![]() ![]() Filter criteria can be selected quickly from predetermined values or more complicated values can be selected to further customize the experience. Instant Filters are divided into 2 separate categories: QUICK FILTERS - Defines some quick-access buttons at the top of the browser to quickly filter the displayed tracks. instant filters Instant Filters provide an easy to use filter system for quick access to tracks on the fly. VirtualDJ will search within the selected fields using all the words or numeric values that are entered in the search field. The order of the words you type is irrelevant. Clicking the Search Options menu to the right of the search bar will allow you to adjust the searchable fields. Search Options By default, VirtualDJ will search within the Artist, Title and filepath fields of the database, but more or different fields can be selected from Search Options to narrow or provide different search results. VirtualDJ will provide the tracks of the selected (focused) folder on the top followed by the tracks from other folders and those will be separated by an empty line. Search results are constantly updated as you type characters in the Search field. Simply type in the Search field, part of the Artist and/or part of the Title of the file you are searching for (separated by a space character), and VirtualDJ will provide all the tracks that match your input. It will only update the Search Database of VirtualDJ From that point, the Search field will be used to provide results based on your search input. Adding or Removing files from Search Database will not copy, move or delete any files. VirtualDJ will then remove the tracks of that folder (and its sub-folders) from the Search Database. If you don’t wish to have a specific folder or a sub-folder included in your Search Database, simply right-click on any folder and choose Batch Remove from Search DB. Adding files to the Search Database will not analyze tracks (scan for BPM etc). Repeat this procedure for all your Drives or folders that contain your media files. VirtualDJ will automatically search within the selected folder and its sub-folders and will add its tracks to the Search Database. Expand any Root Element in the Folders list and right-click to any Folder (sub-folder) or Hard Drive in the Folder List. If the media files are spread across multiple folders or drives, you will need to add your media library to the search database of VirtualDJ in order for Search to provide proper results. VirtualDJ will automatically add files to the Search Database whenever a folder is focused on (opened in the Folder List) for the first time and keep the results in the database. This is used to search and find files within your media library without browsing within the folders. All the files are DRM free If I browse to the original files on the Vista partition I can set as favourite and it works fine.Interface - Database SEARCH DATABASE The Browser area offers a Search input box on the top. I tried changing iTunes in Vista to use the Drive b: location as the iTunes library, but still no joy. ![]() ^ The XML file can be read with Wordpad and seems OK, all files are listed. Error processing resource 'file:///B:/VirtualDJ Local Database v6. Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. VDJ is creating a database XML file on drive b: In the browser tab of VDJ confg, when I select drive b: to check/clean/fix it says External HardDrive : No Files If I try to open the XML file I get: The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. When I close VDj & start it again, the favourite folder is gone and when I find the files the are all unscanned and not seen before. I have browsed to the folder location in VDj and I have set folder as a favourite, added to search db, scanned all bpm's & read all tags. When using Vista I had a lot of files in my iTunes library (default location) To keep the Windows 7 installation seperate from my existing Vista setup I copied my iTunes folder to the Storage partition (b:) My problem now is that VDJ will not store the database for the newly copied files. I now have 3 partitions: Windows Vista, Windows 7, Storage. ![]() I partitioned my hard drive to install Windows 7. I have been using it with Vista for months without many problems, but decided to try Windows 7. I've got VDJ 6.0.3 installed and working on a dual boot set-up with Vista & Windows 7. ![]()
